“But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God and not of us”

2 Corinthians 4:7.
The Roundtree Family

Rev. Larry L. Roundtree II

Larry L. Roundtree II was born to Dec. Larry and Cora Roundtree on September 24, 1978, along with his twin sister Katina.  He has one older sister, Toyka.  He is the rapturous husband of Sameya and the grateful father of 5 saved children, Marra, Tyree, Aria, Larry III, and Aryah.

Pastor Roundtree was reared in a Christian home under excellent parentage.  He attended public schools in Lakeland, Florida and was a member of the Greater St. Paul Missionary Baptist Institutional Church in Lakeland under the pastorate of Dr. N.S. Sanders.

Upon graduation from high school, Pastor Roundtree attended the Florida A&M University in Tallahassee, FL., where he majored in Business Administration.  It is here that he met his future wife, the former Sameya Porter.

Pastor Roundtree preached his initial message on July 29, 2001 at age 22 (he was married to his wife, Sameya 6 days later).  Under the watchful eye of Dr. Sanders, Pastor Roundtree was ordained in October of 2006.

In February of 2009, Pastor Roundtree was called to pastor the New Antioch Missionary Baptist Church in Loughman, FL.  It was at this rural church that he began to learn how to lovingly and obediently pastor God’s people.  Pastor Roundtree served faithfully in Loughman, until he was called to pastor the New Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church of Tampa, FL.

Since his arrival at New Mt. Zion in 2013, God has done many great things!  (to see what God has done at New Mt. Zion since 2013, please visit the church history page).  Suffice it to say, Pastor Roundtree understands that no man can take credit for the wonderful things that God does.  He has held true to the theme for his installation – God Did It! –  taken from Psalm 118:23, “This is the LORD’s doing; it is marvelous in our eyes”.
